Young People Shine at Wirral Climate Awards

On Thursday 25th September, Wirral celebrated the efforts of young environmentalists with a climate awards event held at Start Yard, Birkenhead. Among the standout groups was the Cool Youth Group, a team of passionate young people who meet weekly at Pilgrim Street Arts Centre to discuss and tackle environmental issues.

The Cool Youth Group was nominated for the Green Youth Award, thanks to their successful Climate Comeback event earlier this year at Wallasey Town Hall. This event attracted over 60 young participants, along with professionals and organisations, all working together to raise awareness about climate change.

Their dedication and hard work were recognised when Cool Youth took home the overall win in their category. This achievement highlights the powerful role young people are playing in raising awareness and driving action on the environment in Wirral.
