whats on this october for care leavers

There’s plenty happening for care leavers this October, from food and social activities to health support, employment advice and a chance to get outdoors.

📅 What’s coming up?

There are lots of different things to get involved with throughout October:

  • 💼 Catch 22: Every Monday, offering help with employment by appointment.

  • 💙 Health Drop-In: Thursday 8 October from 2pm.

  • 🧱 Lego Club: Thursday 15 October, 1pm to 3pm.

  • 🎃 Pumpkin Picking: Wednesday 21 October from 1pm. Speak to your PA to book.

  • 🌳 Care Explorers Walk: Sunday 25 October, venue to be confirmed.

  • 🤝 Care Leavers Social: Monday 26 October, 4pm to 6pm.

There is also a Care Leavers Council for nominated young people on Monday 12 October, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.

🎄 Looking ahead to Christmas

Planning is also beginning for Christmas, with colleagues and teams across Wirral being asked to help make the festive period special for our young people.

There are several ways adults and teams can support, including Christmas Elf volunteering, helping with festive preparations, gifts and activities; Christmas Day support, helping young people feel connected and remembered; and the Corporate Secret Santa, where individuals or whole teams can provide gifts and festive support for young people. Secret Santa gifts have a maximum value of £50.

Anyone interested in getting involved can complete the Christmas 2026 form included in the original invitation.

💙 Keep checking the Care Experience Hub

We'll continue sharing activities, opportunities, support and good news for care-experienced young people in Wirral.

And remember, achievements don't have to be huge to matter. Every step forward is worth celebrating.
