Your Life in Care
ZILLO Academy
Welcome to the Your Life in Care Course.
If you've recently come into care, or you've been in care for a while, you may have questions about what being in care means, where you might live, why decisions are being made and who is there to help you.
This course will help you understand how care works, your rights, and how you can have a say in the decisions that affect your life.

Your Home While in Care
When you're in care, you need somewhere where you can feel safe, be cared for and get the support you need.
Every young person is different, so not everyone in care lives in the same type of home.
You might live with a foster family, in a children's home or with someone you already know.
Adults might call the place where you live your placement.
Placement is just the word professionals sometimes use for where you live while you're in care.
