The Wirral Sports Awards are back!

After a two-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, nominations are now open for this year’s prestigious Wirral Sports Awards.

The Wirral Sports Awards are given annually in recognition of the achievements of the borough's dedicated sports people and are open to anybody who lives in Wirral. 

This year the awards will take place on 13th October at Hulme Hall, Port Sunlight.

Members of the public, schools, sports clubs, leagues, associations and other sporting organisations are now able to make nominations in any of the thirteen categories which are: -

  • Club of the Year

  • Coach of the Year

  • Volunteer of the Year

  • Young Volunteer of the Year

  • Young Sports Person of the Year

  • Lifetime Achievement Award

  • Special Recognition for Contribution to Sport

  • School Sports Team of the Year (girls)

  • School Sports Team of the Year (boys)

  • School Sports Department of the Year

  • Primary School Team of the Year (years 5 & 6)

  • Active Wirral Organisation of the Year

  • Active Wirral Individual of the Year

Two other awards - Wirral Sports Personality of the Year and Outstanding Achievement Award - are selected by the Sports Forum’s judging committee.

All short-listed candidates will be invited to the presentation awards evening to collect their awards and the winners will be announced on the night.
