Newly established SEND Youth Forum are seeking members to join

Wirral’s SEND Youth Forum mobilised in March 2026 and is chaired by Ava Adams, who is supported by deputy chair Charlie Warren. The SEND youth forum is a newly established youth forum, that was created as part of the Local Area SEND Partnerships commitment to improve and strengthen communication of information across Wirral between senior leaders, practitioners, and more importantly, children, young people and families.

The Local Area SEND Partnership are keen to hear directly from young people on Wirral, who can influence the partnership by sharing lived experience and contribute to system-wide decision making and driving change in Wirral.

Ava and Charlie are keen to hear from young people across the borough, who want to ‘speak SEND and spark change’.

How frequently do the youth forum meet:

There are weekly meetings that take place at the Hive, in Birkenhead, aimed at ages 15-25. A schedule is in development so it’s best to email to find out about the next meeting.

Do we get to influence real change?

Yes! The partnership are committed to hearing from a broad range of young people to truly understand their experiences. Come along and see how you can get involved.

A delivery plan is currently in development and Ava and Charlie can’t do this alone. They’re looking for you young people to take the lead on individual themes, to maximise impact by sharing the load across 4 key themes. Leads would take responsibility in going out and seeking input from other young people to ensure our reach is far and wide.

How to get in touch:

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, get in touch by emailing sendinwirral@gmail.com or through Instagram @sendinwirral and speak with Ava and Charlie directly.
