Join UK Unplugged and discover the marine biology of the Mersey and Dee Estuaries. Explore the most important and underrated animals on our shores – mussels with Dr Monica McCard.

There will be opportunities to:

• Learn about mussels and microplastics

• See how mussels work

• Ask questions to a marine biologist

You can also bring your own beach finds (nothing alive!) and take a look at them under a microscope!

And…for a small fee you can make your own clay marine animal!

UK Unplugged spark young people’s curiosity beyond the screen by helping parents and carers support young people to explore the world offline through engaging, creative boxes and events. They work with local experts, craftspeople and artists, to create meaningful offline moments that nurture creativity, connection, and mental wellbeing.
